Emmons, a sister company of Sarah Coventry, was founded in 1949 by Charles Stuart. Named after his wife, Caroline Emmons, the firm operated until 1981.
Presenting Emmons' wonderful two layered gold tone Maltese cross brooch, circa 1960s-1970s. Set within gold tone filigree and roped metalwork, striking olivine and hyacinth navette and chaton rhinestones blaze. Superb detail, dimension and color choices. Emmons crosses the line in style.
The brooch measures approximately 2 1/4 inches across with a 1/2 inch maximum profile or height. Center olivine chaton rhinestone is about 11 millimeters; navette rhinestones, 15 millimeters x 4 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 38 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant, retaining color. No off or dead stones. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All metalwork free from dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. Riveting secure. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of the brooch is signed: "EMMONS" preceded by copyright symbol. Circa 1960s-1970s.
