DeLizza & Elster enthralls us with it's '60s vintage circular rhinestone and art glass brooch featuring three large specialty art glass givre stones (unfoiled and open backed) in rectangular, oval and square cuts. Flashes of topaz, hyacinth and peridot colors meld in each of the givre stones. Four marquise art glass stone/ rhinestones in peridot and seven chaton rhinestones in topaz and hyacinth fill in the blanks. A border of peridot colored chaton rhinestones surround. A similar brooch can be seen in Knutson and Wacker's book "Juliana The Last Generation".
The gold tone brooch measures 2 inches across with a 1/2 inch profile or dome. Cushion cut square givre stone is approximately 18 millimeters; rectangular stone, 18 millimeters x 12 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 24 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact, retain color and sparkle. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. No improper bends, dents, crush or collapse. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. Pin shaft has tiny bit of finish wear and slight bend not affecting function. Very clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
As expected the brooch is not signed but is a recognized D & E piece. Circa 1960s.
