Reminiscent of glowing fireflies, Florenza's '50s-'60s vintage clip earrings in it's familiar antiqued silver tone settings, feature imitation fiery Mexican opal cabs, frosted topaz colored marquise cabochons, topaz and aurora borealis chaton rhinestones, clear chaton rhinestones and lustrous simulated pearls. Striated wings flair out at earrings' top. Florenza captures the firefly and puts the bug in your ear.
The Dan Kasoff Company first used the Florenza name in 1948. Known for it's fine casting, Florenza's often exhibits an antiqued look. Metal patinas and color combinations and coordination are stellar. The signature Florenza look is familiar even before you flip to confirm. Production continued until 1981.
The charming earrings presented measure approximately 1 1/4 inches 1 inch with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Marquise cabs are about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters, simulated opals, 8 millimeters and faux pearls, 3 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 20 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Rhinestones and cabs sparkle, glow and shimmer. Some darkening of adhesive securing frosted marquise cabs, inherent with this method of setting. We have chosen to leave them original as they complement the antiqued Florenza look beautifully. Faux opals retain fire. Imitation pearls retain nacre and luster. Rhinestones retain brilliance and ab treatment, as applicable. Antiqued silver tone patina intact, fronts and backs. Earring clips strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of each earring body is signed: "FLORENZA" followed by copyright symbol. Circa 1950s-1960s.
