Joseph Warner produced high quality costume jewelry from 1953-1971, often featuring fruit, figural, floral and foliage motifs in japanned (matte black) settings. Designs tend to be clean and straightforward laden with colorful sparking rhinestones. Examples are limited due to a relatively short production run.
Presented is Warner's large '50s-'60s vintage rhinestone brooch in a japanned setting. All three sizes of ravishing red rhinestones are multi pronged in a high domed matte black setting.
The brooch measures approximately 2 inches across with a 7/8 inch profile or height. Rhinestones are 6, 8 and 10 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 28 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All rhinestones intact, retaining color and brilliance. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. to stones. Japanned finish intact, front and back. Dome shape correct with no dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. All soldering secure. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of the brooch is signed within an oval cartouche" "WARNER". Circa 1950s-1960s.
