During Eisenberg's glorious sterling silver years circa 1943-1948, it's items were variously marked Eisenberg Original Sterling or simply Eisenberg Sterling. Presented is an example from circa 1944-45 featuring an art moderne inspired cascade of arced silver bars tipped with sparkling oval cut clear rhinestones. Selected bars and parentheses surrounding purple stone are pave set with clear chaton rhinestones. A large oval cut amethyst colored rhinestone anchors.
The brooch measures approximately 2 3/8 inches x 1 1/2 inches at it's widest point with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Large purple oval cut rhinestone is 18 millimeters x 13 millimeters; clear ovals, 7 millimeters x 5 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is a substantial 30 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All major oval rhinestones clear and brilliant. Purple stone retains color and sparkle. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All pave set stones intact, with some age related dimming. No dents or improper bends to sterling settings. Hook and eye construction of center section strong and secure. Soldering secure. Pin mechanism secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of the brooch is signed: "Eisenberg" in familiar script / font. "STERLING" is stamped near pin's locking wheel. Circa 1940s.
