With signature scroll work, open and closed back stones and construction, as well as an example in Ann Pitman's "Juliana Reference Book", the brooch qualifies as a verified DeLizza & Elster piece. Circa 1960s, the silver tone brooch features unfoiled blue and green open backed marquise art glass stones in addition to conventional blue and green chaton rhinestones. Finely beaded curlicue scroll work embellishes the oval domed brooch.
The brooch measures approximately 2 1/4 inches x 1 5/8 inches with a 1/2 inch profile or dome. Marquises stones are about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters; large center chaton, 8 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 18 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone and art glass stones retain colors and sparkle. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All metal components free from dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. Soldering secure. All silver tone finish intact, front and back. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is unsigned. As noted above, an authentic DeLizza & Elster brooch. Circa 1960s.
