Christened Hollycraft in 1948, the Hollywood Jewelry Manufacturing Company flourished from 1938 until 1971. It also produced jewelry for Weiss, Kramer and Pakula.
Hollycraft's famously popular palette of pastels, with signature rhinestones in blue, pink, violet and greens, was made and (thankfully) dated in the early-mid 1950s. The line continues to be a favorite with collectors and aficionados of vintage jewelry.
The necklace presented, dated 1950, begins with bilateral silver tone rope chains secured with rhinestone set end bars and fold over clasp. Rhinestone stations flank the center shield style pendant. Stones are a mix of oval, chaton, and pear cuts, all complementing in Hollycraft's signature pastel colors.
The necklace is a wearable, approximate 16 inches. Decorative center spans about 1 7/8 inches x 1 1/2 inches. Largest oval cut rhinestone is approximately 10 millimeters x 8 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is about 20 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Rhinestones retain colors and sparkle. Minimal stone aging. No chips, cracks or breaks to stones. No missing stones. Silver tone twisted rope chain has age commensurate patina. No kinks or bends to chain. No polishing done. All connections secure. No damage / no repairs. Clean. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of medallion signed within rectangular cartouches: "HOLLYCRAFT" and "COPR. 1950".
