Sol Smith's jewelry company Capri in New York City was producing from about 1952-1977. Enamel figural examples from mid century are particularly charming with dashes of whimsy and wonder.
Presented is a dimensional '50s-'60s vintage fish brooch enameled in a pale lime green with gold tone ribbing throughout. His open mouth is also traced in gold tone. Clear chaton rhinestone rosette eyes add a bit of brilliance.
The brooch measures approximately 2 7/8 inches x 1 3/8 inches at it's widest point with a maximum 7/16 inch profile or height. Weigh of the brooch is about 18 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All enamel intact. Minimal wear. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Pin mechanism secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of brooch is signed: "CAPRI" copyright symbol preceding. Circa 1950s-1960s.
