Limited information is available regarding Ann-Vien, a '50s vintage company based in Atlanta, Georgia. The glitzy bracelet and earrings demi presented is evidence of the talented designer's work in the final chapter of the golden age of costume jewelry. An encore of the resilient rhinestone from the era of enticement.
The set includes the massive chevron, butterfly and diamond shaped, thick linked bracelet and matching pendant clip earrings. The gold tone pieces are set with a patchwork of golden topaz colored and clear chaton rhinestones. The bracelet measures approximately 7 1/2 inches with fold over clasp and detachable safety chain x 1 1/2 inches wide with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Pendant style earrings are about 2 1/4 inches long x 1 inch at their widest point. Clear chaton rhinestones are approximately 5 millimeters; topaz chatons, 3 millimeters. Weight of the bracelet and earrings set is a generous approximate 116 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and sparkly. No off color, cloudy or dead stones. "White" stones uniformly clear and brilliant. Colored stones retain rich, golden topaz shade. Gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Some minor tarnish or gold tone wear on safety chain. No dents or improper bends to metal. Earrings pendants and bracelet links strong and secure. Bracelet fold over clasp, safety chain and earring clips strong and secure. No damage / no repairs. Extremely clean. Excellent vintage.
Bracelet is signed on it's original metal hang tag in familiar script: "Ann-Vien. The earring are not signed, but are a definite part of the demi. Circa 1950s.
