Variously described as summer, cruise or seasonal jewelry, Trifari's chalk white or milk glass pieces were a popular trend in the late 1940s through the 1950s. Of course, the rules of "when to wear white" have relaxed, allowing us to enjoy these vintage Trifari pieces as we please.
The matching set presented, circa 1955-early 1960s, features lustrous white cabochons set between panels of gold tone metal. While the link bracelet is fairly straight forward in it's design, the brooch utilizes a crossover or ribbon motif, sometimes termed bypass.
The bracelet measures approximately 7 1/4 inches with fold over clasp x 1/2 inch wide; the brooch, about 2 1/8 inches x 1 7/8 inches at it's widest point. Largest cabs are approximately 7 millimeters x 5 millimeters. Weight of the bracelet and brooch demi is about 58 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All resin cabochons free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. All maintain lustrous white with no stains. Metal components free from dents or improper bends. All gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Light age appropriate patina. Pin mechanism and bracelet fold over clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is signed on reverse: "TRIFARI" followed by copyright symbol. Bracelet is signed on reverse of clasp: "TRIFARI" copyright symbol above. Circa 1950s.
