At over four inches in length this '40s vintage flying mallard brooch covers a lot of territory. Reminiscent of Coro's ducks in flight from the 1940s, this example remains unsigned or it's mark is worn or illegible. It is finely cast and plated in gold tone with silver tone topped rhinestone embellished sections for optimum brilliance. It's down turned wing lifts away from the body lending an incredible dimensional illusion of flight. Beautifully accented in clear chaton rhinestones at bill, wing tips, and tail feathers. A gilded glider, streamlined and sparkling.
Our feathered friend measures an impressive approximate 4 1/8 inches in length x 2 1/4 inches with a maximum 5/8 inch profile or height. Weight of the brooch is about 36 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant. Please do keep in mind that these stones are vintage and will present as such. Gold tone and silver topped finishes intact, front and back. Some patina to silver tone topped sections. No dents or improper bends to metal. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage. Superb presentation.
We cannot locate a signature on brooch's reverse. The design, materials, construction and overall presentation suggest a 1940s-1950s vintage.
