The Whiting and Davis Company, known for it's premium mesh bags, also created wonderful, high quality costume jewelry. Signature looks includes cameos, intaglios, porcelain transfers and various art glass stones resembling semi precious gems. The earrings presented, circa 1960s, feature simulated hematite. The faceted, oblong glass ovals reflect a slick, steely gun metal gray color. They are multi pronged within silver tone crosshatched and scroll worked shield style settings.
The clip earring measure approximately 1 3/8 inches x 1 inch with a 3/16 inch profile or height. Imitation hematite stones are about 17 millimeters x 9 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is approximately 14 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Glass stones free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks, retaining lustrous, mirror like sheen. No dents or improper bends to metal. All silver tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Each original earring clip is signed: "WHITING & DAVIS CO." Circa 1960s.
