Wonderful '50s vintage gold tone basket weave mesh climber clip earring and matching stylized bow brooch tipped with simulated pearls epitomizes the emergence of costume jewelry as art. Cylindrical, funnel shaped tubes / volutes are tightly crosshatched with fine mesh wires. Earrings are smooth capped at lobe portion while bow is bound at center with a ribbed band. All tubes' wide ends brim with large imitation pearls. Quality costume that advertises it's fakery with flair.
The set includes the brooch, at approximately 3 3/8 inches x 1 inch at it's widest point with a 7/16 inch profile or height and the climber style clip earrings, at about 1 13/16 inches x 1 inch at their widest. Faux pearls are approximately 9 millimeters. Weight of the brooch and earrings set is 26 grams.
Condition is excellent / near pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All woven mesh remains tight and secured. No loose, pulled or dented mesh. No rough ends. Simulated pearls retain nacre and color. No replaced or off pearls. All gold tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Pin mechanism and earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean.
