Trifari's simulated faux pearl jewelry from the '40s-'60s was some of the company's most successful. In myriad designs, necklaces, brooches, bracelets and earrings were set with creamy or matte imitation pearls, often with rhinestone accents and in the firm's exclusive Trifanium gold tone or silver tone finish. The company's inventory ran the gamut -- from simple classic lines to more adventurous endeavors -- always with the quality and consistency Trifari was known for.
The fully articulated necklace presented from Trifari's "Pat. Pend" period -- roughly from the mid '40s to 1954, encircles the neck with shiny golden wave links and two rows of graduated, imitation pearls. The links fall beautifully about the neck, perfectly conforming to it's contours. A charmed extension chain provides size adjustment. Wonderful fit and feel. Notable depth and dimension with just the right amount of drama. Classic. Clean. Contemporary. Trifari's fleur de mer charms as fashionable today as when created.
The necklace is adjustable to about 15 inches with charmed extension chain and hook closure. Links encircle approximately 12 1/2 inches x 3/4 inch wide with a 3/8 inch profile or thickness. Largest faux pearls are about 4 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 70 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All faux pearls correct in size and color. All retain nacre and luster. All gold tone finish intact, front and back. All links properly and securely aligned. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is signed on reverse of it's center link: "TRIFARI" underscored with "PAT. PEND.". The necklace is also signed on the inside of it's original hook: "TRIFARI" no copyright symbol. Circa 1940s-1954.
