Large aquamarine colored octagon cut rhinestones star in these colorful climber style clip earrings in gold tone, circa 1950s-1960s. A step down, pear shaped watermelon tourmaline glass cabochons top. Another tier down green marquise art glass rhinestones, tourmaline colored cabs, topaz colored cabs and aurora borealis chaton rhinestones fan out. Marquise art glass rhinestones and marquise cabochons are unfoiled and open backed. Other stones foiled. Selected stones, multi prong set. Wonderful colors and sparkle with selected special watermelon tourmaline treatments awash in pink, green and flashes of gold.
The earrings measures approximately 1 1/4 inches x 3/4 inch with a maximum 7/16 inch profile or height. Octagon rhinestones are about 15 millimeters; ab chatons, 7 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is approximately 16 grams.
Condition is very good / excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones, art glass and glass cabochons intact, retaining colors and brilliance. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All soldering secure. Earring clips secure. Gold tone finish, particularly on reverses and at cradle sides of some stones shows wear to a more silver tone base. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Age commensurate wear and use. Very good to excellent vintage.
The earrings are not signed. Design, materials, colors, construction and overall presentation date them circa 1950s-1960s.
