A sweeping blossom of blue/green marquise rhinestones, enveloped in foliage set with clear chaton rhinestones and bound with a sparkling bow exemplifies the exuberant design flair of the 1930s-1940s. The large brooch fabricated in period pot metal, uses cup set rhinestones throughout -- it's classic floral / bow motif oversized to accommodate the prevailing taste for bigger is better.
The brooch measures a generous approximate 3 1/2 inches x 2 inches at it's widest point. Marquise rhinestones are 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 30 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. all clear rhinestones uniformly "white" and brilliant. Marquises rhinestones which seem to pick up deep emerald greens and sapphire blues, retain colors and sparkle. Pot metal free from dents or improper bends. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is not signed. It's design, materials, construction and overall presentation date it circa 1930s-1940s.
