Jeanne produced some of the most wonderful figural jewelry in the 1950s-1960s. Casting and finishes are top notch. The pristine example pictured features an incredibly detailed camel and nomadic rider pendant. A large circular disk in silvertone provides the backdrop. I love the way this piece is hammered and etched -- evoking a blustery, swirling dust blown desert. An independent second piece provides the foreground. In goldtone, this is an outstanding casting of the camel and rider. Every detail is captured. Textures and finishes are superb. A multi link goldtone chain suspends the pendant.
The chain with a spring ring c clasp is a fixed approximate 19 inches. The pendant measures a very generous approximate 2 7/8 inches across. Necklace weighs in at a substantial approximate 90 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components intact. All goldtone and silvertone finishes intact. Disk is finished on reverse with hammering and etching. Links and clasp secure. No damage / no repairs. Reverse of camel / rider casting is signed within an oval cartouche with "JEANNE". Copyright symbol follows.
If you like your pieces big and bold with a bit of imagination and intrigue then Jeanne's your answer.
