Leave it to vintage to tell it like it was in no uncertain terms. Marquise rhinestones star in this oh so fabulous 4 1/2 inch long leaf brooch in silver tone, circa 1940s. The slight curvature of it's stem keeps our eyes moving over glistening prong set foiled rhinestones in open back settings. A spectacular touch wherever your imagination takes you.
The brooch measures a generous approximate 4 1/2 inches, north to south x 1 inch wide. Marquise rhinestones are about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 22 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and sparkly. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. The rhinestones are more of a silvery clear rather than a bright white -- we call it a rhinestone patina. Time can have quite a beautiful effect. Rhinestones retain foil backed due in large part to the recessed settings protecting the reverses of the stones. Metal components free from dents or improper bends. All soldering secure. Silver tone finish intact, front and back. It is difficult to ascertain the metal -- soldering appears to be pot metal while framework, silvery plated brass. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Age commensurate wear / patina. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is not signed. Circa 1940s.
