Silvery capped, topaz colored round, oblong and teardrop faceted glass beads as well as a pair of silvery spire stations comprise the bilateral link chains of this wonderful art deco vintage lavalier style necklace. The pendant portion provides additional topaz colored rounds, a pierced silver tone metal capsule bead and a large, crown capped topaz glass lozenge bead. Bead color, cuts, shapes and sizes commingle with ease, creating the unmistakable early necklaces ubiquitous to the Jazz Age
The necklace is a wearable approximate 28 inches with spring ring closure. Pendant or lavalier portion supplies an additional 3 1/2 inches for a total length of about 31 1/2 inches. Teardrop beads are approximately 21 millimeters x 9 millimeters; largest rounds, 14 millimeters. Lozenge bead is approximately 35 millimeters x 23 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is 44 grams. Great color -- great length.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All glass beads free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. All connections secure. Metal has acquired age commensurate patina. No verdigris. Closure secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is not signed. It may have been imported from Czechoslovakia as was much art glass jewelry of the era or possibly made in America. Circa 1920s-1930s.
