Featured in a major print ad in 1956: "For Her...Jewels by TRIFARI" the company offered as part of it's summer collection (sometimes called cruise jewelry) the Pebble Beach line. You can see copies of this ad and also close-ups of Trifari's Pebble Beach jewelry in Julia C. Carroll's "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202".
Presented is the Pebble Beach brooch in white (colors also included aqua, peach and yellow) with clear accent chaton rhinestones set in burnished gold tone metal. Large white thermoset (termed by some as Lucite, plastic or resin) may resemble the interesting pebbles or shells at beaches in the tony seaside enclave of Pebble Beach, California. White oval thermoset cabochons also dot the wreath like swirl of golden flora and foliage and perhaps even a bit of seaweed! Cruisey coastal California jewelry from Trifari's Pebble Beach collection of 1956.
The brooch measures about 2 inches across. Largest thermoset inserts are approximately 10 millimeters x 7 millimeters; oval cabs, about 7 millimeters x 5 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is approximately 25 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All white thermoset inserts are intact and lustrous. Free from damage, stains or discoloration. All rhinestones intact, retaining sparkle. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. No dents or improper bends to metal. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of brooch is signed: "TRIFARI" followed by copyright symbol. Circa 1956.
