Eisenberg's sterling silver jewelry from the 1940s is unparalleled. It provides us with an extraordinary presentation produced using only the highest quality materials and workmanship. Indeed, as we inspect Eisenberg pieces from this era in this medium, the craftsmanship is often superior to much so called "fine" jewelry. The pride of it's creation is evidenced throughout. Premium imported stones, substantial sterling silver components and wonderful detail, dimension and drama. The emperors of epic proportions -- Eisenberg.
The sterling silver fur clip presented features an array of rhinestones including chaton, pear and baguette cuts. A rhinestone set volute at top trails with ribbony channels of chaton rhinestones. Asymmetrical balance is achieved with the extension of graduated, rhinestone tipped rods or rays, spaced with cup set chaton rhinestones. A tour de force of design and execution from the kings of costume.
The fur clip measures approximately 3 inches x 2 inches with a 1/2 inch profile or height. Baguette rhinestone is about 12 millimeters x 6 millimeters, largest pears, approximately 13 millimeters. Weight of the clip is an impressive 62 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact with no chips, nicks, cracks or break, retaining clear brilliance throughout. Sterling components free of dents, improper bends or crush. Clip mechanism strong and secure with tight, snap shut closure and secure guides / guards. All soldering secure. Reverse includes stable "hook and eye" connection of top and bottom portions. Sterling silver retains patina. No polishing done. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse is fully hallmarked. The clip mechanism is signed: "STERLING". Beneath the hinged top the script "E" is stamped (a mark Eisenberg used on pieces from the mid to late '40s.) "STERLING" is also stamped on reverse of clip's body. On reverse of outermost rhinestone channel the letter "R" can be seen, an identification mark of the stone setter. The clip dates circa 1940s.
