Double sided oval red molded glass beads connect with melon or pumpkin beads, free form beads and tiny seed beads in this Deco era necklace from Czechoslovakia. Large oval beads have a carved like appearance with a botanical theme. Graduated melon beads are interspersed with free form beads. All are spaced with tiny red seed beads.
Clasp is filigree brass plunger type. Color is a spectacular red shade -- with larger ovals appearing to have a more saturated, concentrated red. Although the necklace is not signed, it is consistent with Czech works of the period.
The necklace measures approximately 27 inches long with plunger clasp. Molded oval beads are about 20 millimeters x 16 millimeters. Largest melon bead is approximately 13 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is 76 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All beads free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Wonderful luster and intense red color. Strand appears secure. Time, as expected, may have compromised original durability of stringing material. Secure plunger clasp displays proper patina. No damage / no apparent repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is not signed. It has the characteristics consistent with Czechoslovakian jewelry of the period. Circa 1930s.
