Call them saddles, waves, wafers or disks, Trifari's wonderful early '50s vintage necklace and earrings set transcends description. In aqua cellulose acetate, similar to the material used in Lea Stein's work, the necklace features stacked, finely striated saddle shaped disks, each spaced with a light olivine colored glass bead. Matching clip earrings mimic the theme in pinwheel fashion utilizing the glass spacer beads and a center, textured gold tone metal bead. Findings are also in gold tone. Fit, feel and form are fantastic. Another treasure from Trifari's tantalizing trove.
The necklace is adjustable to about 16 inches with gold tone extension chain (including original crowed "T" dangling charm) and hook style closure. Width is approximately 5/8 inch and thickness or height, about 7/16 inch. Clip earrings are approximately 1 1/4 inches across with a 5/8 inch profile or height. Weight of the necklace and earrings set is approximately 50 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All cellulose acetate disks intact -- no chips or breaks. Superb striations. color and luster. All spacer beads intact.
