This is a very beautiful and heavy Early 20C French Sterling Silver Platter/Tray in quite excellent condition. This solid silver platter is wholly made of finest quality .950 sterling silver, and weighs heavy 30 oz (853g). The platter has elegant oval shape, finely decorated with Laurel and berries border contour, embellished with Louis XVI style raised ribbon bow and architectural motifs. It remains free from any form of personalisation, no initial or monogram engraved. As you would expect to find, condition is extremely fine and ready to grace your festive table. Hallmarked the French Minerva No.1 mark, which guaranteed .950 purity solid sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the highest quality silver content, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark is that of "Compenhout", 15 rue de Crussol, active in Paris in early 20C.
