Offered for your consideration is this very beautiful Antique French Sterling Silver Soup Spoon Set from Early 20th Century. True to the classic style of French sterling silver luxury flatware from this era, these 12 Dinner/Soup spoons have large bowl with pointed tips, and surprisingly heavy in weight. Gorgeously decorated with shell motifs and finely contoured on the handles. Elegant interlaced monogram MD on four of the spoons.
Hallmarked 1. French Michel-Ange No.1 mark, guaranteed at least 950/1000 purity sterling silver (higher than standard 925 sterling!) used in Paris between 1819-1838. 2. Control mark of City of Paris. 3. Silversmith Victoria Josephine GODOT, active at 380 rue St. Denis between 1832-1836. 4. French Minerva No.1 Mark, probably re-controlled on public auction in the past.
