This is a truly rare and heavy Antique French Silver Lady's Belt Buckle from early 19th Century. The design is classic oval shape with chased borders, having initial "MF" with three stars. A great find for all the Georgian - Regency - Victorian era costume collectors. Hallmarked 1. French silver control mark used between 1819-1838 outside of Paris, guaranteed .800 purity silver. 2. Another silver guarantee mark used between 1819-1838. 3. Maker's mark with initial "AP". 4. French region mark, probably that of North-West of France. 5. French Boar's Head mark, used in Paris from 1838. Probably re-controlled when it passed an auction.
