Offered for your consideration here is this very elegant Antique French Silver Lady's Belt Buckle circa 1900, in excellent condition. This handsome belt buckle has sophisticated Louis XVI style interlaced ribbon border decoration on oval frame. It is finely crafted in solid silver (not silver plated) and having gorgeous vermeil finish (gilded, gold-washed over silver). Hallmarked French "Boar's Head" mark for .800 purity silver (or higher), used in Paris since 1838 for small objects. Maker's mark is that of "Gaston Bardies", 13 rue des Fontaines, active 1897 till 1914 in Paris. There is also mark "GB". Excellent condition as age. No initial or monogram engraved.
Measurements 1 3/4" (4.5cm) large x 2 1/4" (6.4cm) wide, weight 0.72 oz (20.5g)
Excellent Condition as age. Trace of light use, some minor scratches and slight loss of vermeil gold (mainly on the back side) to note. Otherwise in quite excellent shape as age. Please refer the detail photos I added.
