Trifari was established by Italian Gustavo Trifari, Leo Krussman and Carl Fishel in 1925. Alfred Philippe was a French designer who worked at Van Cleef and Arpels. He also became a part of the team and pretty much set the standard for the company. He stayed until 1968. The trademark on this necklace puts it late 60's thru the '70s. The older Trifari pieces are still in demand since they no longer are a stand-alone label. Sarah Coventry purchased the rights and still uses the Trifari TM mark. During WW2 they created a base metal that could be polished to look like silver. Trifarium is the material this necklace is made from.
