For your consideration, a fine vintage 1975 art glass paperweight by the noted glass blower David Mauk. The 2 ¾” tall and 2 ¼” diameter paperweight features a central polychrome blue swirled silver oxide knobbed form with a suspended floating ring. This impeccably crafted 20th century example of American studio glass blowing is noteworthy for its 1970’s aesthetics and features that era’s use of silver oxides. Chico State was a center for the use of such materials and this work was most probably created in that important center of artistic experimentation. The paperweight is in excellent condition with just the most minor or wear to the base, attesting to its authenticity. The work is signed “D. Mauk 75”.
