For your consideration, a fabulous mid-century Ikebana vase signed “MJR & MR” “1958”. The vase’s design is patterned after California Coastal Redwood burl and the work is noteworthy for its modernist aesthetics, which feature a rich brown and light forest green glaze. This unusual polymorphic piece measures 13” x 8” x3” and weighs 4 pounds, with a central mouth measuring 2 ½” x 1 ¾”. The piece has a small-channeled hole in its side for adding water to the vase without disturbing the flower arrangement. The vase is in mint unused condition with no chips, bites, or signs of wear. A very unusual and stylized mid-century work, and just perfect for your collection of 20th century ceramics.
