For your consideration, an early 20th century California School watercolor notated "1902". The work features apples aging on the branches of a tree, portrayed in a distinctly modernist aesthetic; the branches are highly stylized, as are the abstracted forms of the apples. The colors are, likewise, in the modernist manner (almost mid-century) and display an elegant color palette. The watercolor measures approximately 17" x 13" and is in excellent vintage condition with no tears or creases (exhibits two small rust stains). The period gilt frame measures 24" x 18"; it is in fair condition, with areas of loss plaster and paint. The work was acquired in the Santa Barbara, California area.
