For your consideration, an early 1970's vase by Jim and Connie Grant of Celestial Arts Glass Studio. The vase's early date of creation has been authenticated by the Grants, who place its creation from the first years of their glass blowing. The Grants were educated in Berkeley and have been blowing glass together for over 30 years. The piece is noteworthy for its biomorphic and asymmetrical shape in the work's body, two "handles", and 9.5cm mouth. The work features colorful bands of silver oxides, greens, browns, and cinnamon-mauves, and is signed "Grant". The 1 1/2 lb. piece measures 14.5cm tall and 12cm wide, and in excellent condition with no chips, bites, or repairs. A highly aesthetic and finely crafted work created by well-respected 20th century glass blowers, and a worthy addition to your collection of 20th Century Studio Glass.
