For your consideration, an unsigned weeping Buddha carved wood sculpture, circa 1945 – 1960's. The work, in mahogany, measures 6" tall and 6" in diameter and features modernist lines and aesthetics; the piece displays flowing lines, organic shapes and elegant details. The woodcarving is first-rate, displaying precise and finely finished surfaces and carved masses. This extraordinarily intriguing piece is unsigned; there is an area on the piece that shows signs of what was an attached label. I suspect the work Balinese or Philippine. The sculpture looks wonderful in any mid-century environment and shows elegantly from all angles.
