For your consideration, a supremely modernist turned wood sculpture in old growth redwood, circa 1970's-1980's. The work is signed "RJA", and measures 8 7/8" tall, with a 2 7/8" diameter mouth and a 2 7/8" base. The vase features a 5" deep and ½" diameter inner neck, perfect for dry flower or stem arrangement. The vase is highly refined and aesthetic from every angle and is clearly the work of a master wood turner. The piece was acquired in the Northern California town of Mendocino, from a region renowned for its woodworking artist (which include Doug Ayers). A wonderfully stylized example of American Studio woodturning art.
