For your consideration, a batik painting (circa 1960's) by the San Franciso Bay Area artist Carol Takaki (b. 1941). The subject is a San Francisco cable car street scene which features a cable car with figures, landmark buildings, and a hilly topography. This extraordinarily fine batik painting measures 24 ¾" x 19" and exhibits strong shades of blues, grays, and off-whites. The work is noteworthy for its unusually fine details and modernist color palette. It is unsigned, but the work is identified on the frames reverse side with artists name and the work's title. The piece is in excellent condition with no tears, damage or repairs. It comes from a tobacco-free environment.
