This is a marvelous dark amber vintage blown glass Roemer or Rhein Wine glass features a hand enameled crest for the German city of Linz on the Rhine and measures 12 cm high and is 7.2cm wide at the widest point. Most probably circa 1930-1950 the glass is in excellent condition with no chips and just the normal loss of gold detailing. The piece is noteworthy for its finely etched cut work, skillfully drawn armorial village crest, and fused glass details. Linz am Rhein (in English Linz on the Rhine) is a municipality in the district of Neuwied, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the river Rhine near Remagen, approx. 25 km southeast of Bonn and has about 6,000 inhabitants. A wonderful piece with a great presence and a great addition to any fine collection of 20th century Bohemian glass.
