For your consideration, and very rare original pastel work on paper by Rowena Pattee Kryder, signed, dated, and titled "Number 108 = 279 Petals". This is a rare, original hand drawn work and not a later lithograph or reproduction. Rowena created these original 1970's art pieces as "one of a kind" works, with many of these reproduced in the decades that followed. This massive, detailed, and colorful pencil and pastel work on heavy art stock paper measures approx. 31" x 31" and is in excellent condition with no damage, foxing, or repairs. The colors are bright and the work's lines and graphics are clear and well drafted. The painting was created in 1979 and is meant to graphically illustrate a tenant in Kryder's view of the spiritual universe. The work is in its 32" x 32" original period frame (faced with acrylic) and was found in the artist community of Mendocino, California (one of the original locations of the `back to the earth movement" of the 1960's-70's). The work being offered could very well be a chance in a lifetime opportunity to acquire an original vintage work by Rowena Pattee Kryder.
Rowena Pattee Kryder, M.F.A.,Ph.D., is program director of Creative Harmonics Institute. She is also a mystic, a visionary artist and a mother. She has created two temples adorned with colored mosaics. She received her Ph.D. in cross cultural religions studies from Union Graduate School in 1986, and her M.F.A. and B.S. from the University of Oregon in 1961-62. She is author of twelve books and several films and videos as well as numerous articles. Her art has been exhibited widely in the US and Europe. Since 1966 she has studied patterns of myths and mysticism cross culturally. She currently works with groups in ritual, myth and creative harmonics (patterns of color, sound, movement and form). Her focus is cultural transformation through personal transformation in resonance with cosmic principles -- which process engenders social harmony, or "synarchy."
Graphs, such as the one being offered on Cypress Studio, are representations of how harmonics proceed in subdivisions of each other, through the realms. Symbols, tone and ratios given, as well as denominations of realms as one proceeds through the labyrinth. Words for each "cell" can bring contemplative insight as one traverses the labyrinth from outside toward the center where Prime Source dwells. One cannot proceed to the center until all realms are experienced.
