These impeccably rendered tableaus of two children window-shopping are noteworthy for their vital colour palette, graphic compositional and design elements, and charming subject matter. The watercolors are in excellent vintage condition with no stains, foxing, or repairs. The paintings measure 10 ¼” x 6 ¼” and are housed in their original 15” x 11” wood frames. Both are signed in pencil “Peter Stockton-Smith ‘77”, with artist’s studio card on the verso of one of the two frames. Works by this highly respected illustrator and designer are extremely rare. These two classic British School Watercolors are absolute perfection, and the perfect decor accent for a children's room!
Peter Stockton-Smith” studied Art & Design at Newton Abbot College of Art and West of England Collee of Art-Bristol. His work is in private collections in the USA, Australia, Europe and Middle East. Canterbury City Art Gallery and Museum have purchased work for their permanent collection.
