For your consideration, a vintage circa 1970’s Huichol yarn painting featuring a central peyote motif, mountains, and other symbolic iconography. The work is adhered to plywood (framed and backed) and measures 11 ¾” x 11 ¾” and is in good vintage condition with one small area of missing yarn (see photos for full description of condition). The work is noteworthy for its masterful level of craftsmanship; the yarn is tightly “woven” into the composition and the iconography is authentic and meaningful. The painting has hand-written notation by the artist Rodolfo Diaz Benites. A fine example of 20th Century Huichol art.
