The serigraph is noteworthy for its vibrant color scheme and its expressionist Art Nouveaux aesthetics depicting a female figure with a butterfly emerging from her prone figure. The print is signed and notated in pencil “and it is dying that we are born to eternal life”, “20/36”, “Rosemary Allen ‘78”. The work is in excellent condition with no foxing, stains, tears or repairs, and measures 26” x 19”, 31 ½” x 25” in its original frame. This fine early work by a noted Californian artist is very large in its proportions and shows well with all styles of décor.
