For your consideration, a limited edition 1978 serigraph by Rosemary Allen (American, 20th century) entitled, “And it is dying that we are born to eternal life”. The serigraph is noteworthy for its vibrant color scheme and its expressionist Art Nouveaux aesthetics depicting a female figure with a butterfly emerging from her prone figure. The print is signed and notated in pencil “and it is dying that we are born to eternal life”, “20/36”, “Rosemary Allen ‘78”. The work is in excellent condition with no foxing, stains, tears or repairs, and measures 26” x 19”, 31 ½” x 25” in its original frame. This fine early work by a noted Californian artist is very large in its proportions and shows well with all styles of décor.
