This magnificent piece is most probably from the 1960's and is hand etched on its hand hammered copper and matted black coated copper surface. Measuring a massive 20" x 11 ½" and weighing 2 ¾ lbs, this masterpiece in copper features a fountain as its central motif with panels depicting figures in movement, flanked by two circular etched images of historic buildings to either side of the central etching. The etched signature "MILO DUDA", and " 5 XII 68" are present below the fountain, and presumed to be that of the pieces creator and, possibly, the date May 12, 1968? In excellent vintage condition, with some minor scuffs commensurate to its age. A very unusual and fine example of hand etching on copper. Incredible in a mid-century modernist environment.
