For your consideration, an oil on canvas painting by the listed Taos NM artist, Mary Wilbanks (American, late 20th century). This highly nuanced and compositionally vital work is noteworthy for its sensual color palette, which feature subtly modified earth tones in shades of coffee browns, ochre, pale greens and gray-blues. Wilbanks is known for her nature-inspired abstract expressionist oil and mixed media works and this early circa 1980 painting displays her early explorations in organic abstraction. The painting is in excellent condition and measures 10” x 8”, framed measures are18 ½” x 16 ½”. The work is signed “Mary Wilbanks” “80” . Mary Wilbanks is a signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and the Watercolor USA Honor Society.
