For your consideration, a mid-century silkscreen print of two lovers in repose. The work measures 27 7/8” x 21”, and is numbered 12/75 and signed, but I can’t identify the artist’s signature. I suspect the work is of European origin, most probably from the 1960’s or 70’s. The figures are created in shades of brown, greens, and ochers and the work displays sure and expert draftsmanship and elegant lyrical qualities. The large print is in good vintage condition with no tears, foxing, or repairs. The silkscreen is mounted on heavy board and there is appears to be very, very light discoloration in diffused vertical bands across the print, possibly caused by the binding material used to adhere the work to the board; these are very faint and virtually invisible (see photos) and might possibly be created in the natural process of inking the work. The massive work is exceptional in both subject and execution. I wish I could positively identify the works creator, for I suspect the work is the by a known and listed artist.
