For your consideration, a Rare Memphis Design Era Bodum coffee maker designed by George J. Sowden (circa 1987). Measuring 9” tall, 4 ¼” in diameter, and 6” from spout to handle, this low-production masterpiece of 1980’s post-modern design was designed by George J. Sowden for Bodum. This mint condition example of 20th century functional art features artful cut-work patterns to its chromed (or possibly nickel platted) body, and a stylish finial to the top of its cover. The inner workings show very little evidence of use and the piece looks in “as new” condition (appears to used only several times). This piece is a very fine example of late 20th century design; these Bodum coffee makers are extremely rare.
