For your consideration, a 19th century ink and tempera drawing on paper of Arab horsemen in battle formation. Created in the manner of the Romantic School, the work is very much in the manner of Ferdinand Victor Eugène Delacroix. The highly animated drawing is noteworthy for its high level of draftsmanship and the vitality of its imagery. The unsigned work is in fair vintage condition with evidence of foxing, stains commensurate with age, and numerous repaired tears (professionally repaired, see photos). The drawing measures 23” x 15” and is in its 24” x 16 ¼” circa 1965 frame. Notations on verso, including auction house label.
