For your consideration, a watercolor painting of a San Francisco (Sausalito) harbor dry dock, circa 1950’s- 1970’s. The work is clearly modernist in its aesthetics; the color fields and compositional devices are in the California Impressionist manner, as is the vibrant color palette. The painting brings to mind the work of George Post. The signature can be found at the bottom right, but it is illegible (see photos, including black and white monochrome rendering). The matted and unframed work is in excellent condition with no stains, tears, or foxing, and measures 21 ½” x 16”. An exceptional work, and one that shows well with every period of décor.
