For your consideration, a painting by the noted Burmese artist Chit Swe b.1940). The subject of the circa 1960’s oil on canvas (mounted to wood board) painting is a Padaung fisherman; the work reflects the same aesthetics as Swe’s iconic “Padaung Woman”. The work is a fine example of the “Social Realism” school of painting, and is noteworthy for its depiction of Burmese (Singapore) village life. The painting displays a lively and saturated color palette and fine draftsmanship, and is in good vintage condition (see photos). The painting measures 52cm x 40cm, and is in its original 65cm x 52cm wood frame. A rare opportunity to acquire a work by Chit Swe.
