Up for your consideration, an original and significant photograph by the early 20th century photographer S.G. Wehrli. The image measures 15 ½" x 11 ½", and a full 23" x 18 ¾" in its original period frame and mat. This fine and rare work by the National Geographic photographer S.G. Wehrli is noteworthy in that a sister image is in the Corbis collection, and other works from this same period can be found in the Granger Collection. The sister images from this series were published in the National Geographic in 1913. The photograph is in good vintage condition, save for one bent area (stabilized, see photos). This vintage print, mounted on cardboard, shows evidence of being used for reproduction; there are crop markings on the margins of the cardboard, and these markings, along with image identification numbers, points to possible original National Geographic provenance.
