For your consideration, an unsigned circa 1970’s studio art glass vase attributed to the Northern California glass artist Lisa Lebow (1952-2002). The California School vase is created in smokey gray glass and features a sophisticated and highly aesthetic modernist shaped body and subtly flared neck and mouth. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips or bites, and measures 5 ½” tall and 3 1/3” in diameter. Lisa Lebow studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, the Rhode Island School of Design and the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. She then was fortunate to be among a handful of young foreigners invited to apprentice for two years in the glass factory at Orrefors, Sweden. She blew glass and did graphic art and installations artwork you can walk into. She taught art at College of the Redwoods and through the Mendocino Art Center.
