Pollio Perelda designed glass objects for Fratelli Toso between 1948 and 1964 and was known for his use of bold murrines. This vase is from his "Cattedrale" (Cathedral) series in 1957 and, given the name, it is likely he drew inspiration from stained glass windows. The hard to find vase combines opaque white and coloured transparent glass that works especially well when backlit. It also has a purposefully handmade character that adds some further charm. It is in excellent condition. There is a series of etched numbers and letters on the bottom (pictured).
